Snow and cold, at least six eagles at Colvill Park, Pelicans remain

Early this morning Red Wing received a measurable amount of snow with gusty winds. I saw at least six Bald Eagles at Colvill Park, two adult pairs and two immature eagles. One immature eagle flew through the bay and heard lots of chatter from the local adults. A number of American White Pelicans remain in the bay at Colvill Park. One group was huddled together sleeping while another group hunted for fish in the bay. The locks have been closed to barge traffic now, so some towboats are heading south to places like Winona and La Crosse.
