Some new waterfowl arrived, including Northern Shovelers, Green-winged Teals, Hooded Mergansers, and others. Noisy Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles are seen around marshes and in trees. American Robins are here in force now and are singing at dawn. A huge flock of Great Blue Herons arrived at the rookery at Bay Point Park to begin nesting. Sandhill Cranes are flying overhead on their way to nesting areas. Eagles are finishing work on their nests and some are starting to lay eggs. A pair of Peregrine Falcons arrived at the nest box on the Red Wing Grain tower and were seen flying together.
