Eagles continue at Colvill Park with temps below zero

Steam fog was coming off any open water, especially in the bay at Colvill Park. Most of the river channel is covered in ice now. The Xcel Energy power plant discharges warm water into the bay, which keep the water open. There were about the same number of eagles at Colvill Park as yesterday, but harder to see because of the steam fog. They were actively fishing through much of the morning. We also saw a North American River Otter swimming in a small patch of open water on the river channel. It then climbed out and rolled in the snow!
