Migrating birds continue to visit Red Wing on their way south. We are seeing warblers and other small birds, along with some raptors, like Sharp-shinned Hawks and Broad-winged Hawks. Resident Bald Eagles are active around town, with most seen around Bay Point Park. We think there are at least three resident eagle pairs who have nests near Bay Point Park. In recent days, strong winds allowed Red-tailed Hawks to hover over Memorial Park, looking for prey or maybe just having fun in the wind.
