Fall colors hang on, eagles working on nests, and late-migrating birds

From Memorial Park we saw a pair of eagles flying together, then one broke off to chase away another eagle over town. We caught them flying over beautiful fall leaf colors. We continue to see eagles working on nests, and oddly even an immature eagle carrying a stick.  Maybe he was playing “house”? This morning we were happy to see an Osprey circling over the river at Bay Point Park. Osprey migrate south for the winter and this one was probably just looking for breakfast before moving on. A resident eagle flew out to check on the traveler but didn’t challenge him. I understand Bald Eagles sometimes will rob an Osprey of fish.
