In gusty winds and snow, we saw more than a dozen eagles flying low over the river and catching fish at Colvill Park late this afternoon. However, usually there is competition to keep a fish once caught. In one really astonishing case, an eagle was swooping down to catch a fish and another eagle was only a few feet behind, trying for the same fish. The first eagle was able to grab the fish and make safely away. We caught the sequence on camera.
