With warm weather, fog, and little wind, we have not seen many new eagles. The river channel is still ice-covered, but it looks to be thinning. The Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant is scheduled to restart one unit this upcoming week, which should inject warm water into the river.
The eagle count done by the National Eagle Center reported 32 eagles at Colvill Park yesterday (Saturday). However, the big winner for eagles is Gladstone, IL (Dam #18) with 686 reported yesterday. Gee, that’s only 5 hours and 15 minutes away from here.
