More eagles at Colvill Park with new snow and cold

Cara counted 21 eagles at Colvill Park this morning, and we saw a lot of fishing activity in the afternoon. Ice is forming on the river channel, which is probably causing eagle to look for open water at Colvill Park. Both units of the Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant is shut down until mid-January, so less warm water is being sent down the river. With the upcoming cold weather, we are expecting more eagle activity in the next few days and perhaps longer.
