Some new eagles have shown up at Colvill Park, including a few sub-adults. The local eagles sometimes chase the newcomers around the bay, especially when one of them catches a fish. More ice is forming in the bay and the river channel has chunks of ice. The Prairie Island nuclear power plant has shut down both units until January which reduces warm water introduced into the river. This will likely promote faster freezing of the river channel.
