River making second crest after rains, parks are open again

The river crested once at 16.55 feet, fell below 10 feet, and is projected to crest again, at over 11 feet by next week. Heavy rains upstream caused the rivers to rise again. Bay Point Park and Colvill Park are open again, with some debris left on the shore. The city did a great job cleaning up the mess!

Lots of migrating birds have been seen in and around Red Wing, including many warblers. Resident eagles are regularly harassed by Crows, Grackles, and Red-winged Blackbirds protecting their nesting spaces. The Peregrine Falcon pair on Red Wing Grain laid 4 eggs, and 3 have hatched in the past few days. You can view the falcon nest box through the Raptor Resource Project website at https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/.
